The current government has been inundated by corruption. AAP and TMC have poached candidates from the assembly but are silent on how they will arrest corruption by these people. In fact, by poaching these very candidates they have whetted their appetite. That is why these parties are concentrating solely on freebies. Once you have been bribed, you have given up your negotiating powers.
Why did the Sunburn Festival go ahead after the Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said the same was cancelled? What can people do about it now? What can AAP and TMC do? Why are they silent on this aspect? Because they too are eying this revenue in future. So, why is there no ‘expression of interest’/ tender being sent out for holding the EDM in December? Why favour just one party? All canteens in GMC and other govt buildings are awarded by tender. Why not at such major revenue generating events? With tendering, drug-related accidents, noise, garbage disposal, etc. are effectively built in. Presently, the govt spends on garbage disposal and absolves the event holder from the noise violations.
