Abide by timings for bursting firecrackers

The State Government has issued instructions for bursting fire crackers during the ensuing Diwali festival. On the day of Diwali, i.e. on November 14, bursting of firecrackers will be allowed from 4.30 am to 5.30 am from 7 pm to 8 pm strictly. On November 15 and 16, the said timing has been restricted between 8 pm and 10 pm only. This has been done as per the directions of the Supreme Court. The municipalities and the village panchayats at the respective jurisdictions should conduct an awareness campaign in this regard for the information of citizens. It is necessary for the public at large to abide by the timings.

Environmental and noise pollution should be a matter of concern to all. The Goa Government needs to totally ban firecrackers and all fireworks in the best interest of protecting the Health of the people from air and noise pollution.
