Age of retirement

Government employees retire between the ages of 57 and 60, as it is felt they may not be able to handle the workload and that this creates space for new employment. These reasons apply even more clearly to politicians in their seventies and eighties who continue to hold positions of power, placing a burden on both the state and the nation. The so-called 75-year retirement guideline for politicians seems to have many exceptions.

While ordinary citizens pay income tax honestly, many politicians earning ₹30“40 lakhs a year, along with perks and benefits, avoid proper scrutiny and may even receive two pensions. Our tax system is unfair”both rich and poor pay the same GST. Concessions on luxury items, like high-end cars, help only the wealthy, while the poor and students face higher costs for basic needs like stationery and daily essentials. The rich travel smoothly, the middle class keeps the economy moving with hope, and the poor continue to struggle quietly.
