Shack owners are up in arms against the controversial Shack policy 2023-26. The main bone of contention is the age restriction of 60 years. It must be realized that the shack business has been a source of income for families who are in the business for many years. These are folks who will not sublet the business to others.They have acquired a certain expertise over the years and because of which they now have a dedicated clientele. The painstaking goodwill acquired over many years cannot be negated merely because of age. They are now over 60 years of age and have no other source of livelihood unlike govt employees who retire at 58 with provident fund, gratuity and pension. If anything, the 60 years age restriction must first be applied to politicians?
