Alcometers not working?

Intoxicated tourists riding recklessly on bikes along the coastal belt and the city are nothing new to Goa.

Several cases of drunken tourists meeting with accidents have been reported in the State.

Just the other day I came across two bike-borne tourists swinging with their bike and that too in front of police at Dona Paula.

When I questioned the policeman why they were not stopped and tested with an alcometer, I was shocked by the reply. I was told that alcometers at present are in a non-working condition and if the tourists were hauled up, they (cops) would not be able to prove anything in court.

Hope authorities take note of this and put things in order before it is too late.
