Mumbai BMC elections are going to be held on January 15 and the elections will be held in 28 places for 227 seats. The elections to far are in the hands of Maharashtrian locals and this year the elections are likely to give different results. Since 1966 the BMC has been in the hands of Shiv Sena except for one term. In 2017 elections we saw BJP and Shiv Sena having close fight. The elections are held in 2022. After Udhav and Raj Thackeray coming together after 20 years the situation in Maharashtra looks different as all Marathi locals have believed in Thackerays for keeping locals hopes alive and preserving the Marathi language and culture. Now that MMR is in the news with development of new airport and infrastructure it looks the Mumbai will be connected closely with Gujarat which will not be tolerated by Mumbaikars. After the elections it is natural that all Mumbaikars want Maharashtrian president of BMC which is the richest corporation among others.
