It has been reported in the press that a senior member of the Goa government has made a very serious charge, that members of the state level committee SLC, of Goa Regional Plan 2021, have arbitrarily altered zoning areas from forest/orchard to settlement zone in the Goa regional plan 2021, only to accommodate their own agenda and benefits. This apparently translates into a Rs 500 crore scam. It has been alleged that a non-Goan member of the state level committee, who does not possess the required qualifications of a town planner, has played such a fraud on Goa, for the sole benefit of their own professional practice. The million dollar question that begs to be asked are : how come a person who is not qualified to be on the state level committee, was nominated to the committee ? If it has been established that he has gone beyond his authority and brief, the next question is "what action will be taken against this person for having done so much damage to the future of Goa and Goans."
