Marriage is one of the society’s most important social institutions, and is recommended to all. Having children in a wedlock brings fresh perspective and an increased sense of meaning into our lives. Today, sadly the institution called marriage is failing for trivial reasons.
The main reason is ego has taken over any flexibility in the materialistic world. Marriages in these materialistic world is about compatibility and not adjustment. There are many married couples whom I know are different as chalk and cheese but still happy to be together for four decades. It is the common values that bind them together.
Having said that I am not sure if staying single is going to keep men or women happy in the long run and only time will tell. Let’s keep our fingers crossed and hope the marriage as a social institutions survives in the future.
