Asymptomatic cases a cause for concern

It is learnt that in random testing in parliament on January 6 and 7, over 400 staff members tested positive. The disturbing fact is that most of the cases were asymptomatic.

People tend to get tested only if they show symptoms. There are people who do not show any signs or symptoms of the disease on contracting it for the entire duration of the incubation period.

As a result, they end up transmitting the virus. This fuels the pandemic in a rapid and dangerous manner. However even those who are symptomatic can spread the infection before they show the symptoms.

Hence arresting the spread of the infection becomes a huge challenge. The only way to protect oneself from the infection is to get fully vaccinated and strictly follow all the pandemic related protocols.
