Goa government’s ambitious project ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat - Swayampurna Goa’, aimed at making the State self-sufficient, restarted from July 1. The project was suspended in May due to a sharp increase in Covid cases. From July 1, ‘Swayampurna mitras’ have started visiting village panchayats, according to the government. The concept is being implemented to help the people of the State.
Communication is the main mechanism to perform any activity between people and government agencies.
Goa can become swayampurna (self-reliant), and that is necessary to motivate the people. But how? Can government make availability of small places at roadside or at any commercial areas? Can government provide small machineries at home such as carpentry machines, printing machines, grocery stores in house, flour machines, rice mill, small gas agency subject to population of village, etc. Rotary Club of Mapusa recently distributed 21 sewing machines in Assonora village as part of Swayampurna Goa project, is one of the field of becoming self-reliant.
