This is with reference to the report, "Baled waste dumped at old fish market spills onto the road - The Goan Everyday July 6, 2022." It seems like proper disposal of garbage is just not being taken seriously anywhere in the country, whether it is Goa or Mumbai or elsewhere. The dumping of baled dry waste at the fish market behind Margao municipal building is a case in point. The BMC record in Mumbai is no different. One will find garbage strewn all over the place. Certain footpaths in the city are being taken over entirely for stacking dry waste from adjacent industrial units in the area. It seems like nobody is bothered about the environment. Everybody loves to live in filth. Needless to say, the authorities must act to properly dispose off the garbage at the Margao municipal building in view of the heavy rains lashing the state.
