This is with reference to the report 'Primary school kids get little benefit from homework - The Goan Everyday May 17, 2022". That was an interesting report on the impact of homework on primary & secondary school students in the United Kingdom. The news report gives a balanced view on the usefulness of homework for students. Homework may be good to build up your foundation in education, building bond between the parents & the school. At the same time, it may seem unfair to subject children to the drudgery of homework after spending several stressful hours in the school classroom. It is indeed no easy task to sit in a classroom and pay full attention to the lessons being taught. One has to see the glee on the faces of the children when the recess or the closing bell rings. They simply break forth out of their classrooms as if they have been released from prison. We need to take a balanced approach to the subject of homework especially for primary students taking into account the mindset of the children and the parents, who return home after a tough day at office.
