Ban affiliations of students' groups with political outfits

The recent incident of a students’ association intimidating a teacher of Salgaocar Law College reflects the malaise that has affected college and university campuses for decades.  

Political parties and their fringe groups have for long taken advantage of students’ bodies to indoctrinate and promote themselves. This has even led to frequent fights among student groups in campuses. 

Educational institutions should ensure in future that student associations will not be affiliated to any political party. Such associations are meant purely for matters of students’ welfare. While students are free to follow and promote political parties in their private lives, such matters should not become part of students’ associations, which should remain politically neutral.

The government authorities should check and crack down on the misuse of registration certificate of pharmacists in the State. Majority of the registered pharmacists don't run drug stores, instead they lend their certificates to third parties.
