Summer heat can pose serious health risks if precautions are not taken. Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water and avoid soft drinks, coffee, energy drinks, and alcohol, as they can lead to dehydration.

Place bowls of water outside for birds, animals, and pets, as they too struggle in high temperatures. Planting and preserving trees is essential -- they provide shade, cool the surroundings, and protect vehicles from direct sunlight.

Avoid stepping out or working during peak afternoon hours when the sun is strongest. In extreme heat, refrain from filling your petrol tank to the brim as a safety precaution. If visiting springs, rivers, lakes, or swimming pools, ensure children are closely supervised and help keep the environment clean by not littering.

Small, mindful actions can go a long way in protecting ourselves, our loved ones, and the environment during the harsh summer season. Stay alert for signs of heatstroke and seek timely medical help if needed.
