This is with reference to the report, "Govt steps in to tackle traffic jams near schools - The Goan Everyday November 12, 2022." Traffic jams are a common occurrence not just in Goa but in most other cities like Mumbai. One can imagine traffic chaos near schools & shopping malls and it is a big challenge, both for the authorities and for the general public. Traffic jams are the bane of cities. It is good that the State government has stepped in to tackle the traffic jams near schools. But it is not going to be an easy task. What is needed is discipline, both on the part of the motorists/public and the authorities.
The authorities ought to frame proper policies with regard to parking space taking into consideration the width of the roads, etc. The motorists on their part, need to ensure discipline in following the traffic rules. Take for instance honking. Recently when i was on an East Europe pilgrimage, i did not hear a single horn in fifteen days. It's not the traffic that matters it is the discipline of motorists. There has to be cooperation from all quarters for any policy to succeed.
