Calvaddo by-pass junction a death trap

The road construction activity at the Benaulim-Varca road and the Calvaddo by-pass T-junction never seems to end.

Add to that, the impending merging of the poorly aligned Western by-pass from the Seraulim side on this connector and you have a recipe for disaster.

The roads are in a state of utter disrepair washed away with the first monsoon showers, confusing signages, poor chamber design, illogical diversions and lack of proper lighting make this area a veritable death trap especially at night.

To make matters worse people taking the Calvaddo by-pass, stop at the trisection to buy fish, fruits, vegetables and other miscellaneous items from the illegal makeshift shops set up there.

Autorickshaws are also seen parked to pick up passengers and at night the place becomes a safe haven for drunkards and other nefarious elements.

Will the government do something to complete the project in time and get rid of encroachments or is this a 10 year plan?
