A motorist had a narrow escape in front of Hotel Astoria on the Assagao-Anjuna stretch recently, when a rent a cab vehicle who had parked his vehicle at the side of the road along with another 20 vehicles, suddenly tried to reverse his car and in the process the incoming motorist driving his Royal Enfield-500 CC almost collided.
In order to escape the collision the motorist went off the road and fell. Luckily the motorist escaped with some minor damage to his vehicle and also minor injuries to his body as he was wearing a helmet on his head.
My sincere appeal to the RTO and the Police traffic that they should not allow any vehicle to be parked inside the two lines marked on the main roads. Also the panchayat officials should not give the restaurants, eaters, other business establishments licences unless they have their own parking.
That motorist was lucky to escape with narrow injuries, others may not be that lucky.
