Change needed in the way we look at education

This is with reference to the picture : FIRST THOUGHTS….. Board exams…… - The Goan Everyday - February 11, 2025. That was a nice picture of students appearing for their Board exams assessing their performance after answering the papers. Many of them seem confident of their performance. There will be many who may not be so confident, yet there would be others who are sure that they would have done good. However, it is the Results Day that will determine their performance and their future. This brings us to an important point, why do we place so much importance on percentages? It definitely puts children under pressure and when the results are out, there could be unpleasant consequences.  From a different perspective, one tends to ask, of what use are all those percentages. What is the use of those degrees, what is the use of that education if they are not going to provide for your sustenance. Perhaps, there needs to be a massive change in the way we look at education.

Subjudice used as excuse for Sec 17/2 conversions

At the recent “ 2-day Super Express” Assembly session the Goa government refused to give the Opposition details on Section 17/2 of TCP act conversions with respect to the regional plan citing the case in courts as "subjudice". But interestingly, the “subjudice” excuse does not stop the Goa TCP ministry from continuing to convert so much land under the said controversial TCP act at such a fast rate.  Why the double standards?
