Margao has feasts and consumer fairs almost throughout the year, and the parking area in front of the Osia building seems to be the favourite site, the second being Madel opposite the KTC terminal. At the conclusion of every event, tonnes of garbage are left behind by the allottees of the stalls, which the Margao municipality painstakingly clears over the course of a week.
I suggest that, besides the fees, a security deposit be levied on the stall owners, which should only be released after they cart away their trash. This will ensure that the grounds are left clean for the next event and that the authorities are not unduly burdened.
