CM please note Velsao is part of Goa

Over the past few days, it has been really distressing to witness Railways/RVNL bulldozing their work in Velsao illegally, as it has been proven that they do not have the documents or any legal authority to do so! It is really upsetting to see Goans, particularly families and senior citizens, being so seriously harassed and inconvenienced by RVNL.

However, in all this, why is Goa’s Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, and particularly Environment Minister and Salcete’s lone Minister Aleixo Sequeira, not stepping in to protect the rights of law-abiding citizens? Is Velsao not part of Goa? Or is it that the Goa government has given a free pass to RVNL to do as they wish in Goa?

This is yet another serious example of the state of affairs in an increasingly lawless Goa, facilitated (in my view) by a totally compromised Goa government, voted in by Goans but working for the central government and their specific backers and sponsors.

At least the earlier CM, the late Manohar Parrikar, showed some spine and had gone on record to say that he would not allow the Railways to proceed with double tracking for coal; something his successor, Dr Pramod Sawant, has done a total volte-face on. What is the hidden deal here with the current Goa government, central government, RVNL, and other vested interests?

The biggest loss here is that the family’s…
