During the process of making Panaji a smart city, all the bus stops/shelters along the Dayanand Bandodkar Marg to Caranzalem (old Syndicate Bank) were uprooted using a JCB. This work was done prior to start of the monsoon season. During the intervening period some of the shelters were erected. Firstly, some shelters have not being re-constructed. Secondly, except for 1 or 2 shelters, the rest have no roof. This serves no purpose to the waiting passengers and passers-by. Thirdly, the new shelters are much smaller than the previous ones. Let us hope that the bills of the contractors have not been cleared by the authorities with these shortcomings. And the shelters would be completed soon.
