The number of positive cases of the novel coronavirus in the State has dipped as compared to the month of May. The daily Covdi positivity rate has dropped below 7% for the first time in over two months to 6.37%.
With the reduction of positivity count dropping significantly, the government has reportedly de-notified all the state-run hospitals as Covid hospitals except for Super Specialty block of Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC) and South Goa District Hospital.
However what is still a cause of worry is the number of Covid deaths reported every single day in the state. Even though the number of deaths has come down significantly as compared to those reported in the month of May, it must be said that every life is important and there should be zero tolerance towards Covid deaths.
It is pertinent to note that now there is no problem as regards to availability of oxygen cylinders, ventilators and ICU beds.
It must also be said that the stress on the medical fraternity is relatively less now. Significantly Dharavi in Mumbai brought down the number of deaths to almost nil.
