Four fatal accidents at Dandeavado junction besides numerous serious accidents due to rumblers within a year is worrisome. Instead of slowing down, speeding cars neither observe zebra crossing nor speed breakers. In fact two wheelers encroach on hard shoulder to avoid pedestrians. We had unequivocally requested at a public meeting for much needed bypass and broadening of blind spot by using acquired land but the PWD has succumbed to vested interests. They should not wait to soak their hands with more blood. Please check statistics of last few years before installation of rumblers, especially about number of fatal accidents at the spot . Urgently remove illegal boundary walls that leave no place for manoeuvring whatsoever. These measures taken as stop gap till widening of road is undertaken is lame excuse, skirting the serious situation. PWD & EE must take a call before another life is snuffed out. The decision of MLA along with the Panchayat despite objections and noise pollution was most illogical and has been responsible for deaths at the site.
