Despite the court orders for the Panchayat bodies to have a cattle pound in their jurisdiction, the stray cattle menace continues on Goan roads. This was the scene on Siolim-Marna road with at least 50 to 60 cows blocking the main road, and as it was Sao Joao feast in Siolim, traffic was getting jammed on the road. Will the owners of the cows have a sense of responsibility to take care of their cows or at least they could donate their cowherds to the 'gaushalas'. The High Court should pull up the local bodies for their failure to have a cattle pound or tie up with the 'gaushalas to clear the menace of stray cattle on the busy roads which could lead to dangerous accidents and loss of precious lives of both the animals and human beings.
