All over Margao city, we see pavers being laid or relaid on footpaths, but there is hardly a stretch where they have been fixed as per proper norms. Either the sub-base has not been prepared correctly, resulting in the pavers buckling, or the strength of the paver itself is compromised, resulting in cracks or breakages.
Pedestrians are facing a harrowing time negotiating such areas, with minor injuries also being reported. Will the government take heed and set right the defects?
