The recent flag hoisting issue at St Jacinto Island due to misunderstanding was resolved by all the parties as quickly as it happened but the Goa government hastily called the people 'anti-nationals' and threatened to deal with the issue with an iron hand. An unnecessary knee- jerk reaction.
Be that as it may, we are happy to know that the government does have an iron hand and would like to see it being used to tackle the following issues which affect the people: corruption in government departments which have public contact and delay in disposal of files of people; increase in crime rate - thefts, rape and loss of life; applying chemicals to fruits and vegetables which endangers the health and life of consumers; sub-standard work by contractors due to which our roads are in pathetic condition. We would like to see the government dealing with an iron hand these and such other issues which affect the life of people.
