Chief Minister Pramod Sawant had well in advance predicted the outcome of the Zilla Panchayat elections in the state. There is no surprise over the decimation of opposition parties. The vocal locals had thought that the popular agitations against doubling of track lines, coal transport, and electricity supply would tilt the scales in their favour all though some politicians tried to highjack the people's initiative by joining too late to be in the forefront.
Where is the so called reliable opposition when overtly and covertly it's a divided opposition. The results have conclusively proved that there is no opposition to BJP.
So any analysis of BJP foothold in Goa will point to legislators secretely making a common cause to feather their own nest. The worst is still to follow in near future.
