Democracy demands action, not outrage

It’s all quite simple. Elections in India today feel like an extension of Doordarshan”scripted, pre-decided, and pre-packaged. Whether people agree with the storyline no longer seems to matter. The Opposition has either lost the ability to unite people against it or is simply uninterested, beyond performing its own small theatre”like all the noise around “H-bombs.”

In a landscape where institutions have been openly hijacked, demanding “proof” is about as relevant as discussing in-flight meals during a plane hijacking. If the Opposition isn’t willing to take real risks”beyond ritual outrage”and if citizens won’t come together to defend the democracy they claim to cherish, why assume the country deserves better?

And for those dissecting the Bihar results without placing election manipulation at the center of the discussion”congratulations. You’ve identified yourself as exactly the sort of overeducated fool the system counts on.
