Demolish all illegal basti areas in Goa like Lala Ki Basti

Lala ki Basti is not a film title, but a place in Goa where houses were built illegally by migrants on land that wasn’t theirs. This happened with the support of some politicians who used these people as a vote bank during elections.

The Revolutionary Goans Party (RGP) has rightly raised this issue and taken it to court to protect Goan land. The High Court’s order to demolish the illegal houses in Lala ki Basti has been appreciated by Goans. Such forceful land grabbing cannot be allowed to continue. Other illegal areas like huts, gaddas, Moti Dongor Basti, Zuari Nagar Basti, and the bungalow in Old Goa’s heritage zone should also be dealt with. If we tried to build homes without documents in their states, would they allow it?

RGP is standing strong for Goa, while the BJP government continues to support such settlements for vote bank politics. The Chief Minister often talks of strict action, but nothing real happens. It’s time to clear slums before Goa turns into another Mumbai. The police should act boldly like ‘Singham’, not weakly like ‘chewing gum’. Well done, Valor Tumka, for acting to demolish the illegal Lala ki Basti.
