DGP in a spot!

The Goa DGP, Mukesh Kumar Meena has got himself into a spot. By publicly stating he does not agree with the protests and then saying strict action will be taken against such people he has disclosed a conflict of interest.

His job is to follow the law only. Taking sides cannot be done by anyone in his shoes.

He now poses a threat to human rights. The NHRC must take note of this. He has no option but to step down from the post in Goa.

He says that widening of roads is his priority as this will reduce traffic congestion. Strange! Almost all widened roads have dilapidated traffic signs and destroyed medians.

Right at Margo bypass the signboards banning heavy traffic passing through the Nuvem near colleges and schools are not visible. 100 meter radius around colleges are silence zones. Medians are broken. None of these roads follow the latest Indian Road Congress rules including the need for silence!

Easing traffic congestion is not the sole objective of IRC. Noise and safety are objectives too, but not for traffic cops.
