Don’t misuse services of firefighters

Firefighters play a crucial role in society, combating fires and saving lives, often facing risks like burns, smoke inhalation, and injuries from collapsing structures. They are prone to long-term health issues such as asthma, heart disease, and cancer due to exposure to harmful substances.

Besides fighting fires, firefighters rescue people from accidents and handle emergencies like floods or terrorist threats, protecting lives, property, and the environment.

However, their roles have expanded, sometimes leading to misuse of their services. Firefighters are increasingly tasked with non-emergency duties, such as cutting trees or clearing fallen debris, often on private property, which can be hazardous and outside their primary responsibilities. This misuse can undermine their health and safety and the respect they deserve.

Public misuse of fire services should be discouraged, ensuring firefighters' efforts are focused on genuine emergencies. Let's honor these heroes and ensure they receive the support and recognition they deserve, including adequate compensation and risk allowances.
