Dreamliner nightmare

The crash of an Air India Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner near Ahmedabad airport has shocked the entire country. It is a major blow to civil aviation, one of the fastest-growing sectors in India. The crash has once again raised serious concerns about Boeing, whose aircraft has been involved in yet another fatal incident.

The company has faced repeated allegations of negligence ” from faulty manufacturing to putting profits before passenger safety. Whistleblowers who tried to expose these issues have often suffered as a result. As investigations continue, there is a strong need for full transparency ” not just from Air India, but also from Boeing and the governments that protect it.

Transport safety in India is generally poor, but aviation has been an exception because of the international rules it follows. At a time when the aviation sector is rapidly growing, especially in countries like India, ensuring safe air travel is more important than ever.
