Dry car wash initiative to help save water

It is learnt that Goa Hyundai, in a new out-of-the box initiative, has launched Save Water campaign from June 3 to 17 across all its service workshops in the state. Goa Hyundai will reportedly use the dry wash technique instead of washing cars with water in order to educate car owners about water conservation. It is understood that on an average 120 litres of water is consumed for a single car wash during service. Taking into account the number of cars that are washed at each service centre and the number of service centres, the amount of water used could be colossal.  A waterless car wash uses various types of highly lubricated sprays to remove dirt and road grime. The key to working safely with a waterless car wash is to use plenty of clean microfibre polishing towels. These towels help to wipe the car without causing any damage to it. The use of lubricants also protects the car from rusting. The dry car wash is environment-friendly and needs to be adopted at other car service centres in the state and also used to wash cars at home.
