Ease of Living in India

Life in the West is great”clean air, green parks, excellent schools, and disciplined citizens make for pleasant living. But when it comes to ease of living, India stands unmatched. Last month, I booked an Uber at 4 am in Orlem, Malad. It arrived in 5 minutes and took me to Dadar Central station”24 km for just Rs 256 ($3).

After a holiday in Goa, I called to restart the newspaper and househelp”both arrived on time. With no food at home, we ordered essentials via Blinkit, delivered in 8 minutes. Later, tired, we ordered from Uncle's Kitchen”Swiggy delivered promptly. Monthly groceries from Dmart came with hefty discounts.

I walked into a private hospital without an appointment for a hernia check-up”operated two days later. In the West, you'd wait three months just for a consultation.

With a decent salary, you can afford a maid, a cook, and even a chauffeur. These comforts are luxuries in the West”here, they’re everyday conveniences.
