It was heartening to learn that in the overpopulated and caste-ridden state of Bihar , people of different religious beliefs and faith are living in peace and harmony, thus obviating the need of the draconian anti-conversion law. Chief minister Nitish Kumar has made this very clear in his recent statement that "there are no conversion related disputes in Bihar and no major instances of communal violence over the past several years". This unfortunately is not the new thinking in Goa where, despite the people in the state living in peace and communal harmony over the past several years, the anti-conversion law is sought to be imposed in the state. Only recently a mountain of a mole hill was made over the religious activities of a small-time pastor of a Christian sect who has been held guilty of forced religious conversions. It is hoped that good sense will prevail and a hornet's nest is not stirred up by the Goa government with its intention of bringing in the anti-conversion law.
