Discipline is mandatory in everyone's life and it starts in the family at a very young age, and strictly maintained in school, but unfortunately let loose on Goan roads in adulthood. Sounds hilarious! But it seems that the beauty and charm has been lost on Goan roads as far as drunken driving/riding is concerned. One may be sober and strictly following the traffic guidelines while on wheel, but just due to the stupidity or indisciplined behaviour of the other person, everyone's life is at stake.
However, it's noteworthy to know that Goa has witnessed 400 per cent rise in drunken driving during the current 5 months. Underlining the government's commitment, that involved a special drive against drunken driving, which was held from May 31 to June 2, 258 cases were booked; which is quite alarming in a small State like Goa. It's a great job done by the authorities concerned to safeguard the interest of the general public. Henceforth, by fostering a culture of vigilance and alertness. the locals and tourists ought to maintain discipline while travelling on roads.
