Students of the LL.B. degree (CBCS course) have raised serious concerns about a breach of the prescribed paper format in the Civil Procedure Code exam conducted by Goa University on 15 October 2025. The question paper did not follow the official CBCS format approved under Goa University guidelines.
The change in question pattern and module structure caused widespread confusion. In particular, there were errors in how modules were distributed and how internal choices were given. As a result, many candidates could not attempt questions from the correct set of modules as required by the syllabus.
Several students and faculty members say this was not a minor technical issue but a serious one that affected fair opportunity and equal evaluation promised under the University’s academic rules.
Because of this, the affected students have asked Goa University to take cognisance of the issue and award at least 30 grace marks to all candidates who appeared for the exam. They argue that this is fair because the error occurred at the paper-setting stage, not on the part of students.
Students have also urged the Registrar and the Controller of Examinations to review the examination process so that such mistakes do not happen again. They hope the University will act quickly and responsibly to protect the credibility of the new LL.B. examination system and ensure justice for all affected students.
