Finish the job please

Construction of drains is being carried out in Benaulim, but the contractor cares two hoots about completing the job. Unfinished drains filled with stagnant rainwater offer fertile ground for breeding mosquitoes and are a public health hazard.

Rubble, drain covers, aggregate and general debris lie scattered about, which pose a danger to vehicles and pedestrians alike. Minor accidents take place frequently due to the contractor’s carelessness.

It is high time the PWD pulled up the agency and ensured that the work is completed before the heavy rains set in. The kachra also mars the beauty of the beach road which has been recently tarred due to the efforts of the local MLA.
