Finland education system has a lot to teach us

Finland's education system is acknowledged as the best in the world focusing on no standardized tests, minimal homework and shorter school days,  from 9am to 2pm. Teachers work fewer hours, are highly respected and are paid well, similar to doctors.  Finland’s success in education is rooted in trust and autonomy. Teachers are required to hold master’s degrees and are selected from the top 10 per cent of graduates. Once in the system, they are granted full freedom to design lessons, assess students, and adapt to individual learning needs ” without interference from inspectors or national rankings.

Instead of competition, the Finnish model promotes equality and lifelong curiosity.

Every child, regardless of background, receives equal access to high-quality education, supported by a national culture that values teachers on par with scientists. There is much that India can learn from Finland.
