Focus on real estate boom period for land grab cases

It should be stressed that immediately after liberation almost all the properties were owned by Goans and many private owners were big landlords. Investigating land grabs would take an authority of utmost integrity to be able to distinguish the authentic  documents registered with the ones that were fake, leading to land grabs. All levels of processing of documents should be thoroughly investigated to verify genuineness of property. Since real estate boom began say four decades ago, focus should be on this period wherein maximum land grab cases could have occurred. Almost all the acquiring  of land in Goa recently is registered with the Registrars of the various talukas. At least the documents on paper are available in order to delve into the issue of land grab cases. The matter would be a very mammoth task but if a determined beginning is made, then thorough investigation, land grab cases could begin to be unearthed and the law could catch up with those who have been involved in land grabbing in Goa.
