It is really funny to see that a legislator wants to ban alcohol in the tourism state of Goa. For your kind information alcohol in Goa was present before Portuguese entered Goa and during those olden days our ancestors used to sell coconut feni, urrak and cashew feni in their houses. Each and every single function in Goa like wedding, birthday, anniversary, picnic, festival's starts and ends with a toast. We Goans know our limits and we don't fall in gutters like the people from other states because they drink alcohol as if tomorrow will never come. In case alcohol is banned in Goa than who will come to Goa for holidays and enjoyment? Goa's tourism will finally be finished. Yes, it is true that due to misbehaviour of few tourists due to overdose of drugs and alcohol accidents and fights take place. The government of Goa should be strict with the bar and restaurant and liquor wholesale shop owners who don't close on time. Their liquor selling licences must be cancelled. It may be recalled that States which have banned alcohol have highest crime record.
