Verna village is blessed with a underground electric cabling network for the past many years but the electric supply is pitiable to say the least with multiple breakdowns becoming the order of the day making it more of a curse than a blessing.
Just a couple of weeks back the Electricity Department had a total south Goa shutdown for a so called annual maintenance but from the very next day power got tripped off at regular intervals. On 7th June there were about 14 instances where power got tripped off, damaging our electric/electronic appliances.
Is the department just bluffing the consumers of the so called maintenance when nothing is really happening on the ground. The common retort when the department office is called at Verna or Majorda is that the mains at Xeldem has tripped off and the buck is passed to that end. It is high time the department and the Power Minister wake up from their deep slumber and put their house in order and give the consumers the service they deserve of regular power.
