Goa state government is extending services of many officials in many departments and even engineers. The extension is given to those who are in major post in the respective departments. The said extensions affect those who are due for promotion and get retired without getting promotion to the higher post. On one hand we have youths with no jobs, and on the other hand we employ those who have already completed their tenure. It is required to fill lower posts and give chance to those due for promotion. Promotion for higher post should be declared one year prior to those who are going to retire from the higher post so that they can guide promoted staff during their tenure and before retirement. Since they are experienced in said post they can give guidance to those promoted in said post. Instead of extension of services, posts should be filled with senior staff on merit basis and create employment opportunities for new generation and youths. Today computers have replaced typewriters and hence computer operators should be employed as today most youth are computer savvy. The only way to generate employment is by filling posts and recruiting new talent.
