Foreign and Indian tourists often create trouble at night in Siolim after getting drunk or under the influence of drugs. Recently, a Russian woman tourist damaged a car and blocked traffic for nearly an hour. The police were informed, but they arrived late. The woman even assaulted a local man and refused to listen to the police. Despite this, the police failed to take quick action or arrest her. This shows that the Goa Police are not strong or prepared enough to handle such situations.
Where is the so-called Pink Police force? It seems like a waste of resources and should be merged into one active and efficient police unit. Having officers just sitting in vehicles while crime happens is a waste of taxpayers’ money.
The police often say, “Help Goa Police to help you” by dialling 100. But help must come on time ” not after everything is over, like in Bollywood films. Many known criminals are roaming freely in Goa with weapons, while the police show their power only on local Goans and small-time activities. How can overweight and unfit policemen chase criminals when they are not even physically ready for the job?
