In the run-up to the 2022 Assembly elections in Goa scheduled for February 14, every day seems to be a different day with the number of MLAs switching parties and new pre-poll alliances being formed. Going by the number of political parties in the fray, it is almost certain now that it is not going to be a cakewalk for any single party to secure a majority on its own and to form the next govt in Goa. A coalition govt is therefore a certainty “probably a khichdi coalition of differing ideologies, past bitterness, and differences. What does it matter, as long as the ultimate aim of opposition parties and avowed intention of dislodging the BJP govt from power is achieved.
Secondly, we may even experience a record number of NOTA (None Of The Above) votes this time as there are a large number of old faces and unpopular persons with a past record of pending criminal cases against their names. What will therefore be the end result and which party will form the next govt in Goa will continue to remain a big question mark till the end.
