Now that the BJP is firmly in the saddle it should strive to provide corruption-free and good governance in the most transparent manner taking all stakeholders along unlike the last time which was marked by extreme chaos. As in the corporate world, performance metrics for the newly inducted ministers should be set and those not discharging their duties should be replaced. Controlling infructuous expenditure, stopping tax pilferage, ensuring quality audits of sarkari contracts, merit based recruitment processes, employee incentivisation and easy availability of government benefits to the last man in the last village should be the key focus areas. A grievance cell should also be set up in the chief minister's office and audits by reputed external agencies should be conducted to keep the governing machinery on its toes. Interactions with leading industrialists and businesspersons across the country should be held for setting up industries in IT, electronics, food processing, pharma, logistics and other non polluting sectors. Agriculture should be relooked at to make it a viable career option for persons with large land holdings.Crime needs to be checked with an iron hand. We hope that CM saheb walks the talk this time around.
