Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant is as expected blaming everyone else except his own government for the unrest against Section 39/A. It's common knowledge that the government bulldozed this bill in the assembly without any discussion even though the sound of NO was louder than the YES; and to add insult to injury the government is now saying that such things should be discussed in the Assembly. St Andre villagers led by MLA Viresh Borkar went through the proper protocol via the system of objections and meeting with the bureaucrats only to find that the TCP Dept was deceptively trying to push through the conversion via any means. Despite protests since the St Andre villagers went to the TCP Department, MLA Viresh Borkar being dragged down 2 floors and then on hunger strike, why was the Chief Minister Pramod Sawant silent all this time, only to give a press statement yesterday blaming others except himself and his government? The Chief Minister should stop making evasive statements and scrap 39A which is non-negotiable. The police official who manhandled MLA Borkar at the TCP office should be dismissed.
