Govt must uphold law & order

According to press reports, following the alleged serious crimes of encroachment, intrusion, and unauthorised demolition of a house, as well as the alleged kidnapping of the occupants, there now seems to be an attempt to downplay the severity of the crime by pressuring the victims to withdraw their complaints.

To make matters worse, it appears the complainants are now trying to cover up the incident for reasons unknown. The government should not give in to these schemes.

Regardless of how well-connected the alleged offenders might be, the government must uphold law and order and not go easy on them. It is the government’s responsibility to pursue the prosecution of alleged criminals, even if the frightened victims withdraw their complaints, as the complaints still exist on record.
