The organisers of the Sunburn festival are believed (despite of CM Pramod Sawant's repeated assurance that the festival would not be permitted on December 31) to be still selling tickets online and are reportedly going ahead with its original scheduled festival dates i.e. December 28 to 31 as they claim that they have still not received any govt communication not to hold the event on December 31 at Vagator. Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte on the other hand claims that the government has till date not granted any permission to the organisers of Sunburn to hold this event at Vagator. Now, if what he says is true then how come the Sunburn organisers are already seen displaying so much confidence and selling tickets of this festival through their official website and still displaying it as a four-day event at Vagator? I think that the Goa government needs to come out clean over this controversial annual festival called 'Sunburn' and which is unnecessarily scheduled from December 28 - 31 at Vagator to create more chaos for the locals from Anjuna beach belt area, especially on New Year's Eve.
