Govt will have to answer to SC on stray dogs

The Supreme Court has slammed states and union territories for not complying with affidavit as per the order in August 2025 on stray dog menace. Only Telangana, West Bengal and Delhi have filed affidavits in compliance. The other states and UTs are directed to ensure their state chief secretary are present in Court on November 3. The stray dog menace was reported by Goa and other states in newspapers and  children too have suffered due to stray dog attacks . The Supreme Court came out with rules to control the same with strict action by states to curb the attacks by providing special shelters, vaccination and special vans to catch those stray dogs . Now that no reply has been filed the State will have to answer to the same . There are continuous cases of stray dog bites in the state and concrete solution from animal husbandry department and government should be expected soon to control the increasing stray dog menace.
